Rates, Insurance & Direct Billing
Rates
Rates are set according to the recommended fee schedule by the BC Association of Clinical Counsellors.
Individual Counselling Sessions:
- $160 per 50-minute session
- $240 per 80-minute session
Report Writing:
- $160 per 60 minutes
Insurance & Direct Billing
Many health insurance providers cover the cost of counselling sessions provided by a Registered Clinical Counsellor. Please check with your plan provider to confirm coverage, including any deductible amount, and maximum amount covered per calendar year.
Payment is due at the time of the session. You will be provided with a receipt to submit to your plan provider for reimbursement.
Direct billing is available with some insurers, including Canada Life, Industrial Alliance, Johnston Group, Manulife, Maximum Benefit and more. Please click here for a list of insurers.
If you are eligible for direct billing, your will be asked to provide your insurance information for a predetermination submission prior to the first session.
Direct billing for ICBC-funded counselling sessions: If you were involved in a motor vehicle accident within the last 12 weeks, you are automatically approved for up to 12 counselling sessions. If it has been more than 12 weeks since your accident, you might still be eligible for counselling. Please reach out directly for more information.
Payment
Payment can be made by a credit card or e-transfer.
Cancellation Policy
If you need to cancel or reschedule a session, please do so as soon as possible, or at least 48 hours before the start of your session. Otherwise, the full rate of the session will apply.
